The Chi Omega Social Action and Scholarship Foundation

The Chi Omega Social Action and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (COSASFI) is the 501c3 arm of the Chi Omega chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. We provide funding for scholarships for high school seniors in Leon County and surrounding counties. As members of this community, it’s our duty to reach out to students who have the academic qualifications to enroll in college but may not have the financial resources to attend. Therefore, as members of COSAFI, we feel that it is our obligation to assist those students who wish to attend college by providing financial assistance and other educational resources. We also have a mentoring program for young men ranging from middle school to high school called the Lamplighters Mentoring Program. We enhance their leadership skills, provide tutoring, get them involved in community service activities and we provide scholarships to the seniors.

We provide funding for cancer research. We make an annual donation to the Cancer Society to help find a cure for the various cancers that affect the lives of our families, friends and neighbors.

You can support our efforts by making a donation to our foundation. Your generous contribution is tax deductible and we would appreciate any financial gift you are able to provide. Your donation can be accepted by check or money order.

Please make payable to: Chi Omega Social Action and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. or COSASFI.

We know that with your financial assistance, we can continue to breakdown educational barriers and improve our community one student at a time and assist in improving the health of our community.

Tallahassee Citywide Talent Hunt

The Talent Hunt program of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is one of several national programs designed to identify and support the youth of our nation and the world. The original idea was created by Brother J. Austin Atkins of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and Brother Dewey Duckett of Rock Hill, South Carolina. While the idea was conceived in 1945, the first District Talent Hunt program was held in the Sixth District in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 19, 1946. The need for such a program was born out of the unequal opportunity afforded to some American youth to develop and give full expression to their talents.
The original statement of the Talent Hunt idea included this expression: Creative and outstanding capacities in any honorable activity should be eligible for
consideration.   During public presentations, all original displays were limited to the field of music. Since that time, the Talent Hunt program has been expanded to include other forms of the expressive arts.

Omega Invitational Golf Tournament

The members of the Chi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Chi Omega Social Action Scholarship Foundation Inc. (COSASFI) invite you to join us in our efforts to improve the lives of youth in our community and to take a stand against prostate cancer. Your support of the 2nd Annual Omega Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, October 25th provides an opportunity to make an investment in area youth through supporting community outreach programs that include college scholarships, athletic programs and mentoring initiatives.
Did you know that one in five African American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer? In addition to supporting youth programs, your generous support as a sponsor will help raise necessary funds to fight prostate cancer. The golf tournament will not only serve as a means to raise funds to tackle this disease, but it will also serve as an opportunity to provide life-saving education about prostate health screenings.
